Do I need resistors for mini LED turn signals? – Simple guide for supermoto
Why LED turn signals without resistors cause problems
Flashing too quickly
LEDs consume less power than incandescent bulbs. The standard flasher relay detects the low load as a fault → turn signals flash faster than normal.
Flickering or error messages
Especially in digital cockpits, LED flickering can be disruptive and trigger error messages.
Difference to incandescent bulbs
Normal light bulbs draw enough current to correctly control the relay. LEDs require resistors to simulate the same behavior.
When plug & play resistors are needed
Compatible models
Our mini LED indicators and resistors come with plug & play adapters for KTM, GasGas and Husqvarna from 2014 onwards.
They are also compatible with other models – in which case the connectors may need to be adjusted.
Plug & Play resistors vs. relay solution
- Plug & Play: Simply plug it in, no tools required
- Relay solution: Complex installation, specialist knowledge required
Installing mini LED turn signals with resistors – step-by-step
- Plug & Play: Simply plug it in → done
- If connectors differ: briefly adjust them → turn signals will function correctly
