VERTEX 2-stroke pistons are gravity-cast from an aluminum alloy with 18% silicon content. The silicon reduces thermal expansion at operating temperature. This has the advantage of making the piston less prone to rattling and breakage. Silicon also gives the pistons better wear characteristics, thereby extending the piston's service life. Pistons supplied with piston ring(s), piston pin and piston pin circlip! 2-stroke piston versions: Replica = piston matches the original shape, Race = performance-enhancing piston version, Pro Race = forged special piston
